#Chester views through the North Transept window @chester_cathedral that probably haven’t been seen since this window was installed in the 1800s. @recclesia_stained_glass #stainedglass #views #chestercathedral @chestertownhall
St Peter’s Church, #Chester // Following our emergency stabilisation work at St Peter’s on The Cross in Chester city centre last year, we’re thrilled to say we’ve been awarded the next phase to carry out the permanent structural stabilisation of the masonry alongside @buttressarchitects and @clach_conservation engineers. The work will see the temporary webbing and chains replaced with a permanent solution to restrain the central arcade followed by reinstatement of the stained glass that had to be swiftly removed by @recclesia_stained_glass to facilitate the work.
The Rows, #Chester // Our work to conserve and protect The Rows in Chester city centre is now well into its third year, with significant improvements being made along all four streets. The work spans roughly 133 listed buildings along all the Rows branching off The Cross, funded by @cheshirewestandchestercouncil and @historicengland. The project has seen significant improvements made to the condition of the historic fabric, from repair and reinstatement of the unique stallboards, lime plaster repairs to walls and ceilings, deep cleaning, decoration, and repairs to balustrades, overseen by @insallarch and @ramboll_uk. The present scope of work includes an extended phase of repair on Eastgate, alongside the installation of a new aspirating fire detection system which will continually monitor the air on all parts of the Rows to detect fires and protect our city’s world famous heritage.
Ashton Hall, #Cheshire // A beautiful spring morning prepping for conservation and repair work to this handsome C17 Cheshire hall. Permission has been granted to install bronze casements throughout, in tandem with the conservation of the stonework to the windows. #masonry #stone #conservation #chester #cheshire #windows #glass #bronze #skills #stonemasonry
It may have started out torrential for yesterday’s progress meeting at our Plas Alltran project in Holyhead, but the sun soon came out and the facade is looking fabulous! . . . . #buildingconservation #buildingrenovation #conservationcontractor #masonryconservation @btp_architects #socialhousing #conservationarchitecture #conservation #craftmanship
We’re not sure where it went, but today marks 15 years of #Recclesia - and what better way to celebrate than with a #macaron as big as your head?! Thank you as ever to everyone who’s been on this terrific journey with us, supported us, championed us, and trusted us to do incredible things. #15 #recclesia #birthday
